Our monthly meetings are held in New Longton Methodist Church Hall at 7.30 p.m.
on the first Monday of each month, except for the holiday period of August when
there is no meeting but an outing is usually arranged.
Members are asked to pay 50p at each meeting to cover refreshment costs. We aim to make our meetings both entertaining and
informative in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Our speakers talk on a wide range of subjects both humorous and thought
provoking.
From time to time 3 or 4
members will be asked to assist in making refreshments at the end of the monthly
meeting, also with the baking of cakes.
With our current membership of around 80 women, this works out at less
than once a year.
At most of the meetings a
competition is held and you will find information about this on your current
programme. You may enter one
item in each competition. Each
item will earn one point for the entrant.
Should your entry receive first place you will score additional 3 points,
second place 2 points and third place 1 points, these points are in addition to
the entry point. A cup is
awarded annually to the member with the most points for that year.
The Federation Newsletter
“Hotpot” is available to members. This

county, together with news from various other W.I.s

Please note that if you are unable to attend a meeting it is your
responsibility to make sure that someone collects the Newsletter on your behalf
or it will be held over to the next meeting that you attend.
